The basis of the photovoltaic system are photovoltaic modules that are grouped to create solar power station. This solar power station differs in size and output. The difrerence between mono-crystalline panels and multi-cristalline panels is mainly visual. Shapes of cells are different from the square to polygons. The colors are usually black for mono-cristalline and blue for multi-cristalline. But panels could be different stained. The effectiveness of multi-crystalline modules is 12-14%. Efficiency of mono-crystalline modules is 12-16%. Price and durability are the same. The effectiveness of amorphous panels is 8-9%. To achieve the needed output, we need 2.5 times larger area than would be needed when we would use multi-crystalline modules, but rate of profit is about 10% higher!
South direction with a maximum departure + / -15 ° to the west is considered to the ideal. It is clear that nothing should stay in the way of sun´s rays. Slope of the panels should be about 31 ° from the horizontal plane.
In our conditions the photovoltaic system capable to generate per 1kW 900-1000kWh of electricity per year.
Installed 1kWp needs approximately 8 meters square. If the panels are installed horizontally on the free ground or on the roof in rows, you will need area approximately 2.6 times larger than the area panels themselves.
Lifetime of the panel is about 25 years. The warranty period on panels and inverters is usually five years. The inverters are calculated with the exchange to fifteen years. Photovoltaic panel, however, the lifetime decrease, but manufacturers usually guarantee 90% efficiency after 15 years and 80% efficiency of the panel after 25 years. Theoretically, photovoltaic panels can be operated much longer, for example 30 years.
The converters transform the direct current produced by photovoltaic (FP) modules to alternating current of specified parameters (230 V / 400 V, 50 Hz) for delivery to the grid.
