Solar energy

Use effective, clean, inexhaustible and widely used source of renewable energy - solar energy. The benefits of photovoltaic energy sources are protect the climate and the environment . This impact is significant. Meaning is not only in protecting the environment, but to ensure future energy autonomy and independence. Photovoltaic is a form of conversion of solar enrgy in usable electrical energy. The conversion of solar energy into electricity energy is environmentally clean, does not produce toxic waste, gas or noise. Solar power stations also require minimal maintenance.

What photovoltaic is?

  • Quantity of solar energy that fall down every year on Earth's surface is 5000 times greater than all the world's energy consumption.
  • Annually fall down to our country, on average, 950–1050kWh/m² energy per square meter
  • Average number of hours of sunshine (no clouds) is around 1550h/year in the Czech Republic
  • Annual electricity consumption per household is on average 1200kWh

Photovoltaics is an advanced technology that allows direct conversion of sunlight into electrical energy and solar power station are its practical applications. This is basically the cleanest way to obtain electricity.

Solar power station is a grouped of photovoltaic panels and inverters, which transfer direct current to alternativ current. Solar energy produced by solar power station can be delivered to the grid.

Regarding the construction of the photovoltaic panels, from which is solar power station composed, are compiled from a mass of interconnected photovoltaic cells. Mechanical construction of solar panels is particularly important for the vitality of solar photovoltaic cells.

Resistance of solar panels is secured hardened glass on the front of panels. Photovoltaic panels are resistant to hail and strong winds. Concurrently this hardened glass ensures the largest possible absorption of light rays. Under code-glass solar cells are deposited into the foil, which has optical properties very close to the solar glass. Solar modules are resistant to moisture, wind, rain, storms, sand and mechanical strain.

Photovoltaic panels have advantages such as: operate without fuel, waste or pollution. The only "fuel" of photovoltaic power is solar radiation, is therefore a fully renewable ressource. This operation is not linked to any emission, light, heat or noise pollution. Energy contained in sunlight is directly converted by photovoltaic panels into electricity.

 

Price of system

Price of photovoltaic systems is measured in cost per installed 1kWp. This price decreases with the size of the system that you will build, because we can realize quantity discounts. The price of pohotovoltaic system is about 105.000Kč/kWp.

Return of investment in the photovoltaic system is approximately ± 7 years without subsidies. And there is guaranteed 20 years period in purchase price and in green bonus.

 

Purchase price

Pricing decisions of the Energy Regulatory Office sets the purchase price for producing elektricity.

Sale of 100% solar electricity to the grid means that the investor sells all solar elektricity, that is generated to the grid at a price 12.250 CZK / kWh without VAT (up to 30kW) or 12.150 CZK / kWh without VAT (above 30kW) and ivestor buys electricity at a cost for example 4 CZK / kWh. This solution is recommended in case, where investor has a minimum electricity consumption or applications on green field

Green bonus enables consume solar electricity in the house first. For each kWh investor receives in 2010 11, 280 CZK / kWh without VAT (to 30kW inclusive) or 11.180 CZK / kWh without VAT (over 30kW). If you can not consume solar electricity in the house, is automatically delivered to the grid for the price 11.280 CZK / kWh (11.180 kWh). The advantage of this solution is that the investor saves kWh, which would otherwise have to buy from grid. Profit for investor is double. Firstly, in case that a solar electricity is consumed in the house, investor receives 11.280 CZK / kWh (11.180 kWh) and secondly investor saves kWh, which he would have to buy from grid.

 

Grants

The State Program for energy saving and renewable energy sources , that was signed by State Environmental Fund has not announced any grants for the year 2010. Watch more on www.sfzp.cz

Photovoltaics started expanding outside of our planet

synchronized to the fixed orientation to the sun. This ensures a regular  flow of energy supply which is focused into radio beams, that are sending to the receiver on the Earth's surface in California. Project is probably going to start in 2016. The initial output of the prototype should reach 200mW for 15 years. Just for comparison, the largest solar power station in the Czech Republic has output 3.5 MW and covers area of 27 ha. Cost of the project should be a little higher than the average price per kWh, but Cal Boerman, project manager SOLAREN, said, that, each prototype is more expensive than mass production. Boerman also expect that space power in the foreseeable future will not replace conventional sources of green energy, but can provide a very wide spectrum of knowledge for the development of new technologies.
